  • California Distance Learning Project A vast array of great stories with a well-functioning listening component, interactive vocabulary exercises and comprehension questions.
  • Centre for Independent Language Learning Resources to help students teach themselves.
  • Cyber Listening Lab Listen to English and then see if you understand. Several levels of difficulty and a wide variety of topics. Computer sound card and software required.
  • Dave's ESL Cafe A variety of learning tools and a student forum.
  • English as a Second Language Rong-Chang Li A wealth of information, resources, interactive activities at every level. Includes prononciation resources.
  • English for All Sign in as a visitor or get a class password from your teacher. Interactive web site, with 20 online videos, and worksheets.

  • The Literacy List Large collection of links to resources for learning English.
  • Pumarosa Pumarosais an audio/visual English learning site for Spanish speakers. It starts with very basic concepts such as the alphabet and the pronunciation of each letter. It gives the Spanish translation, phonetic spelling and the pronunciation in English Eand explains, in Spanish, concepts like verb conjugation and pronouns, with examples.
  • The Learning Edge An interactive, on-line newspaper for adult literacy students. Its interesting, topical stories are plainly written for a range of learners. Each story is read out loud slowly by a man with a pleasant voice, and is accompanied by learning activities such as games, puzzles, interactive quizzes and writing contests. The Learning Edge also has student writings.
  • Quia Shared Activities Over 150 activities and quizzes related to many subjects. Free 30 day trial but you must register.
