Ambassador will be assigned as immediate supervisor.

| Objective: |
- To provide a warm
and welcoming atmosphere for patients and visitors
of MGH.
- To direct people
through the hospital and respond to reasonable
needs patients, visitors, and family members.
- To assist in the
transporting of patients from the lower level
of the Wang Building throughout the hospital
and from medical appointments to the patient
pick-up area in a courteous and pleasant manner.

| Qualifications: |
- Strong interpersonal
skills.
- Customer service
focus.
- Ability to give
clear and concise directions and information.
- Patience.
- Ability to comfortably
be able to push a patient or visitor in a wheelchair.
- Familiarity with
MGH a plus.

Monday through Friday
9 :30 AM - 12:30 PM
Monday through Friday 12:30 PM - 3:30
PM

| Duties
/ Responsibilities: |
- Give accurate information
and directions to patients, visitors and family
members, using direction sheets.
- Provide written
directions and maps when necessary.
- Be prepared to
greet people as they approach the information
desk.
- Defer requests
that require using patient information systems
to Information Desk Ambassadors.
- Transport patients
and visitors in wheelchairs as necessary.

| Limitations: |
- Respect patient
confidentiality.
- Do not discuss
patient's illness or appearance.
- Do not use the
computers at the front desk if you do not have
a Partners Log On and Password.
- Computers require
user IDs and passwords.
- If a computer is
signed on, it is to be used strictly by that
staff member.
