Advanced Interdisciplinary CPE Program
The Chaplaincy at MGH offers an innovative advanced interdisciplinary Clinical Pastoral Education program. Chaplain interns and experienced healthcare providers learn side-by-side in a rich, multidisciplinary mix. Three units take place over a 16-month period.
This CPE program focuses on following areas:
Chaplain interns develop a clinical practice informed by research, enriched by experience, and ready to contribute to the advance of the profession. Each unit offers specialized training: clinical ethics, chaplaincy research, and leadership skills.
Chaplain interns serve in virtually every specialty and sub-specialty in medicine and surgery. Assignments in pediatrics, transplantation, and medical psychiatry are available.
Graduates are eligible for board certification in chaplaincy
The program starts in the fall of 2010. The first unit runs from September - December, the second unit from January- May, and third unit from September - December. Chaplain interns commit 30 hours/week to the program.
