Ellen Grant, MD
Dr. P. Ellen Grant is Chief of Pediatric Radiology and an experienced Pediatric and Adult Neuroradiologist at Massachusetts General Hospital. She received her MD and a masters degree in Physics from the University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She trained in radiology at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada and obtained her specialty in Pediatric and Adult Neuroradioloy at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Grant's research interests are in understanding the neurobiology of epilepsy and the developing brain.
Dr. Grant is currently collaborating with Dr. Elizabeth Thiele to better detect and quantify the effects TSC1 and TSC2 defects have on brain structure and organization using sophisticated techniques such as diffusion spectrum imaging and structural analysis. Dr. Grant's other research projects focus on characterizing normal early brain development and improving our ability to detect and monitor infant brain injury using diffusion, arterial spin labeling and quantitative frequency domain near infrared spectroscopy. She is also currently involved in developing functional imaging in children.
