Biography

Dr. Asnis received his AB from Harvard College in 1994 and his MD with Honors in Research from Cornell University Medical School in 1999. After completing an internship in general surgery at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, he completed his orthopaedic residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York where he was awarded the Jean C. McDaniel Resident Teaching and Leadership Award. Dr. Asnis completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Asnis is the Head Team Physician for the Boston Bruins. He also serves as a Team Physician for the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and New England Revolution. Dr. Asnis is also the Head Team Physician for Suffolk University.

Dr. Asnis is a member of the MGH Sports Medicine Service and is an Instructor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a Member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He is a member of the Team Physician Societies for the National Football League, the National Hockey League, and Major League Baseball.

Dr. Asnis has a clinical and research interest in knee and shoulder injuries. Dr. Asnis is active with the Bioengineering Laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital where research is performed to optimize treatments for patients with sports related injuries.
