August 1, 2011

The Mass General Sports Medicine Service is pleased to welcome four new fellows to the practice! Dr. Hasan Baydoun completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Chicago before moving east to complete his fellowship in Sports Medicine. Dr. Sommer Hammoud joins us from the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan, where she just completed her Orthopaedic Residency. Dr. Seth Jerabek returns to the Massachusetts General Hospital where he served as an Orthopaedic Surgery resident after completing a fellowship in total Joint Replacements at the Hospital for Special Surgery. The last addition to our team is Dr. Lancer LeClere who joins us after completing his Orthopaedic Residency at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego. The United States Navy has granted permission to Dr. LeClere to complete a Sports Medicine Fellowship in the civilian sector. We are looking forward to another excellent academic year with our four new fellows!

December 1, 2010

Dr. Luke Choi gave an insightful and interesting talk on the historical perspective of Rotator Cuff tears and where the technique of this procedure is evolving currently at the Sports Medicine CME Conference. The talk was well received by all who attended, and sparked very interesting discussion.

September/October 2010

Our new fellows are settling in nicely and now that the heat of summer has officially ended they are beginning to dive deeper into their research projects and prepare for their thesis. Dr. Clarke is planning to explore clinical outcomes after ACL reconstructions in specific populations. Dr. Bravman is beginning work with the Biomechanical Engineering Lab to explore anatomic reconstruction of the ACL and reconstruction of the Rotator Cuff. Dr. Choi is continuing to develop his interest in basic science as he works with the Tissue Engineering lab to study healing of joint tissue after surgery.

The Mass General Sports Medicine Service is pleased to welcome three new fellows to the practice! Dr. Jonathan Bravman joins us from the University of Colorado, where he completed his orthopaedic residency. Joining us from the University of Virginia is Dr. Luke Choi. The last addition to our team is Dr. Michael Clarke, who joins us after serving as a general orthopaedic surgeon at the Naval Hospital at Camp Lejune. The United States Navy has granted permission to Dr. Clarke to complete a Sports Medicine Fellowship in the civilian sector. We are looking forward to another excellent academic year with our three new fellows!

July 31, 2010

Congratulations to Drs. Benton Heyworth, Amon Ferry, and R. Frank Henn who have successfully completed their Sports Medicine Fellowship here at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Benton Heyworth will be going across town to complete an additional Fellowship at Children’s Hospital Boston. Dr. Amon Ferry has traveled a bit further to join Valley Orthopaedics in Arizona. Finally, Dr. Frank Henn has joined the Orthopaedics Department at the University of Maryland Medical Center. We wish all three the best in their future careers!
