Biography
Dr. Wiegand grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 2002, she graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a degree in Cognitive Neuroscience. She returned to Pittsburgh to complete her medical degree, graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2007. While at the University of Pittsburgh, she received the Harold Henderson Sankey award given to the outstanding senior medical student interested in orthopaedic surgery. Dr. Wiegand completed her Orthopaedic Surgery Residency in Philadelphia at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She is excited to return to Boston for fellowship. During medical school and residency she developed a particular interest in the education of medical students and residents, and looks forward to continuing this during fellowship.
In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, biking, traveling and spending time with family.
