Biography
Dr. Heyworth graduated cum laude from Princeton University, where he majored in
History and was a member of the lacrosse team that won consecutive NCAA national
championships from 1996-1998. He attended medical school at Columbia University
College of Physicians & Surgeons, and completed a clinical research fellowship
in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Mailman School of Public
Health. Dr. Heyworth completed his orthopaedic surgery residency in New York
City as well, at the Hospital for Special Surgery. His research interests have
focused on the areas of hip arthroscopy and sports medicine for young athletes.
Dr. Heyworth, his wife, Kelley, and two sons, Charlie and Matthew, are excited
to be living in Newton. Following his adult sports medicine training MGH, he
will be completing a second year of fellowship training in pediatric sports
medicine at Children's Hospital of Boston, and plans to pursue a career in
academic sports medicine.
