Biography
Dr. Hammoud graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a BS in Microbiology. As a member of the UCLA Varsity Women's Soccer Team, she earned Pac-10 Freshman of the Year honors and was a team captain during her second year. She received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins University and subsequently completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. Her research interests have focused on the biomechanics of the ACL deficient and reconstructed knee, femoroacetabular impingement, and injuries in the skeletally immature athlete. As a Chief Resident, she was awarded the Russell F. Warren Award for Excellence in Orthopaedic Basic/Translational Research for her work in cartilage repair.
Dr. Hammoud is joined in Boston by her husband, Emad.
