Biography
Dr. Clarke graduated with distinction from the United States Naval Academy with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. He attended the military medical school at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, MD. Following Surgery Internship (Orthopaedic Track) at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Dr. Clarke served as a Flight Surgeon (General Practitioner) to a Marine Corps Helicopter Squadron for three years. During this time, he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Dr. Clarke subsequently completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego in 2008. Following residency, he has practiced as a general orthopaedic surgeon at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune for two years. Dr. Clarke has been granted permission by the Navy to attend orthopaedic sports medicine fellowship in the civilian sector. His research interests have included rotator cuff, shoulder instability, and ankle injuries.
Dr. Clarke is joined by his wife and three children. They reside in West Newton. Upon completion, he will re-enter the Navy as staff orthopaedic sports medicine surgeon.
