RSMG has implemented many standards to help keep research space as functional as possible for existing and future occupants. RSMG developed a set of guidelines to standardize functionality of space based on the overall need of the research community at MGH and in correlation to recent new buildings at other academic research facilities.

In many areas of the hospital, it would be impossible to redesign many of the pre-existing building structures without a large source of capital. Therefore the standards listed here are in relation to the new Richard B. Simches Research building and will be used in projects moving forward.
