Mission

The Massachusetts General Hospital's Department of Radiology will establish a positive learning environment by providing knowledge through excellence in teaching and guidance. We will provide education and supervision for radiography students assigned to their clinical area, consistent with the established standard of medical care in radiological services as well as departmental and program policies

Vision

Through our commitment in education, we will strive for a level of teaching that will inspire our Medical Imaging students to choose our institution to fulfill their career goals. We will also ensure that our students have the knowledge, confidence and compassion necessary for a successful future in radiology technology.

Values

  • Success For All Students
We are committed to providing a learning environment that encourages students to develop their learning capabilities and set high expectations for themselves. By expanding the learning opportunities within our institution and providing room for growth and development, we offer support and encouragement to build the confidence needed for success.

  • Communication
By promoting communication and co-operation among mentors, students and staff establish a harmonious work environment that will foster mutual respect and long-term relationships.

  • Staff Participation
By demonstrating professional growth and actively participating in professional activities, such as in-services and workshops, we show a willingness to maintain current teaching strategies, based on new technologies.

  • Shared Decision Making
We make every effort to provide an understanding of the impact of decision making with regard to patient care, by allowing for creative problem solving with students. We strive to inspire our students to carry their education into a career with our institution.
