Research Management Policies
In the event you have front loaded expenses for a project that needs to be charged prior to official award and/or research fund set up (certain restrictions apply)
Discusses what needs to occur as your research project comes to a close/has closed
Reviews billing and collection requirements, as per Federal regulations 45 CFR Part 74 Subpart C - Post-Award Requirements and Sec. 74.21 - Standards for Financial Management Systems
In the event that you need to revise a current budget or you have not spent budgeted dollars in a given period and need to carry money into the next budget period
This policy explains the rules around how you can and cannot spend money that was awarded to you for a research project
Cost Sharing is the MGH portion of cost not borne by the sponsor for a research project
When an error has been made and finds need to come on or off a research fund

Partners Human Research Committee (IRB)For studies that involve human subject, Partners has very clear standards as it relates to the ethical conduct, dictated by both the institution as well federal requirements.

Human Research Quality Improvement ProgramPartners Human Research Quality Improvement Program (QI Program) is committed to providing on-going support and education to the research community.
The QI group:
- Conducts routine on-site reviews
- Assists with audit preparation
- Can help to create annotated study binders
- Provides on-site and online monitoring
- IRB submission assistance
- IND consultation
- Educational QI In-services
The group also conducts a Roundtable Discussion Series for study staff, in order to ensure clinical research compliance. The QI program is an extension of the IRB, and is available to all investigators within the Partners system. For more information, or to request QI services / consultation
