Director, MR Imaging

Mass General MR Imaging uses state-of-the-art scanners to take pictures with very high resolution of your body. These images give your physician important information in diagnosing your medical condition and planning a course of treatment.

Areas of the body, which may undergo an MRI scan include: head, chest, abdomen, vital organs, joints, spine or extremities such as hands, wrists, ankles and feet. Our highly sophisticated scanners also have capability to diagnose diseases of blood vessels in the brain, neck, and body.

This patient information web site describes your MRI scan, letting you know what to expect every step of the way. An MRI technologist will also explain your scan to you before your MRI scan begins. At all times, you should feel comfortable in asking questions of any member of our staff.
