Abdominal Imaging & Intervention Fellowship

Abdominal Imaging & Intervention Fellowship (2 Year) CAQ Certified

A two-year Fellowship, which involves both abdominal imaging and interventional radiology. The Fellow will get considerable exposure in abdominal imaging and non-vascular intervention. The Fellow will be able to have an elective in Vascular Radiology, which will expose him/her to all aspects of Vascular Imaging and Intervention. This elective can be for a period of 6 months and will allow the Fellow to be eligible for the Vascular/Intervention CAQ examination.

Abdominal Imaging & Intervention
In addition, this Fellowship involves intensive training in Ultrasound, CT, MRI and general fluoroscopy in the Abdomen and Pelvis. The Fellow will have rotations in all aspects of GI and GU radiology.

Imaging cases include greater than 60 CT scans/day, greater than 100 ultrasounds/day, greater than 10 MRI/day and up to 15-20 general fluoroscopy/day.

Abdominal Imaging & Intervention
Intervention includes exposure to all biliary, and genitourinary procedures such as biliary drainage, gall bladder drainage, gastrostomy, abscess drainage, biopsy, etc. 15-20 non-vascular interventional cases per day.

Abdominal Imaging Fellowship (1 Year)

Abdominal Imaging & Intervention
The 1-year Abdominal Imaging Fellowship provides a comprehensive multi-modal focus on abdominal and pelvis imaging and intervention. Rotations include CT, PET-CT, CT colonography, ultrasound, abdominal and pelvic MRI, fluoroscopy/plain radiography, and non-vascular interventional procedures. Directed elective time of one month is available. Fellows participate in general teaching and research activities and attend a daily 4pm conference where residents, fellows, and faculty discuss all the interesting and teaching cases of the day. Fellows may also attend daily Mini-Course radiology lectures conducted by the residency.

Abdominal Imaging & Intervention
We will begin accepting applications for the 2011-2012 1-year Abdominal Imaging Fellowship starting July 1st 2009.
