  • Magnet site visit completed
The MGH Department of Nursing recently underwent a comprehensive review by an external organization, the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to assess how the hospital meets standards of practice and professional performance.
  • Surveying of patient safety culture to be launched
In early March, the MGH/MGPO Center for Quality and Safety (CQS) will launch a staff survey to assess providers' attitudes about safety dimensions at the MGH — including feelings about the general safety environment at the hospital, teamwork, staffing, support from MGH leadership and freedom to report safety issues. The survey questions will be based upon those developed by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
  • Hirsch receives Maxwell Finland Award
Martin S. Hirsch, MD, of the MGH Infectious Disease Unit and the Partners AIDS Research Center, was honored as the recipient of the prestigious Maxwell Finland Award for Scientific Achievement from the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) at an awards gala Feb. 13.

  • A taste of the town
In Fridays during the month of March, the MGH Blood Donor Center will offer donors free samples of food catered by area restaurants as part of its annual "Taste of the Town" event.
