And the Oscar goes to ...
At a ceremony Oct. 12, the staff of the MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center presented the annual Sarah Jennings Richards, MD, Award to Laurie O'Leary, NP. Named in honor of Richards, a pediatrician who served the Chelsea community for more than 30 years, the award recognizes a member of the MGH Chelsea staff who has worked at the center for more than 20 years and exemplifies the professionalism, dedication and clinical excellence Richards embodied. O'Leary, chosen from among 16 nominees, was presented with an "Oscar" statue made of Richards' favorite sweet — chocolate. O'Leary's name also was inscribed on a plaque in the MGH Chelsea lobby, and $1,000 was set aside as a scholarship fund for a Chelsea High School student pursuing a career in health care. The money was raised through an auction organized by the MGH Chelsea staff.
