Change in Hotline schedule
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, MGH Hotline will not be published Nov. 23. The regular printing schedule will resume Nov. 30.

Caring for Caregivers presentation
In recognition of National Family Caregivers Month, the MGH Geriatric Medicine Unit and the Partners Employee Assistance Program will offer "Caring for Caregivers" Nov. 27, from 5:15 to 6:30 pm in the Blum Center as part of its Conversations with Caregivers eldercare series. Carolyn Frye-Halloran Symposium
The MGH Department of Neurosurgery will host the annual Carolyn Frye-Halloran Symposium, "Tumor Suppression Syndromes Ð The Path to Clinical Trials" Nov. 29, from 8:30 am to 6 pm. Breakfast will be served in the Ether Dome, followed by the symposium in the Simches Research Center, third floor. Experts in neurofibromatosis, tuberous sclerosis and von Hippel-Lindau disease will discuss aspects of these disorders, including the presence of multiple tumors, involvement of multiple systems and the difficulty in organizing multicenter clinical trials. Neurodegenerative disease pilot study grant program
The Massachusetts Alzheimer's Disease Research Center at the MGH and the Harvard NeuroDiscovery Center at Harvard Medical School (HMS) are now accepting applications from investigators within the HMS community for pilot studies aimed at understanding and developing treatments for neurodegenerative diseases. The one-year grants are worth up to $35,000. The application deadline is Dec. 7. Simches Symposium
The MGH Executive Committee on Research will host the second annual Simches Symposium Nov. 20, from 8 to 5 pm in the Simches Auditorium. A continental breakfast will be served beginning at 7:30 am. For more information, contact Maureen Shanley at (617) 726-1548 or Nancy Risser at (617) 726-6630.

Spaces available on MGHfC marathon team
The MassGeneral Hospital for Children's (MGHfC) marathon team has spaces available for runners for the 2008 Boston Marathon. All those interested
in participating in support of the MGHfC Hematology-Oncology Center should e-mail the following information to Robert van de Graff at rvandegraff@partners.org by Nov. 26: name, e-mail, home address, primary and secondary phone numbers and reasons for running.
