  • Leadership meeting outlines research, mission, construction and budget
    Managers and supervisors gathered in the O'Keeffe Auditorium Oct. 31 for a leadership meeting highlighting leading-edge research from Emery N. Brown, MD, PhD, director of the MGH Neuroscience Statistics Research Laboratory and member of Anesthesia and Critical Care; the revised MGH mission statement and new credo and boundary statements; campus construction updates; and the FY '08 budget.
  • Coffee Central celebrates 10 years of buzz
    This October, the caffeine capital of the MGH, Coffee Central, marked 10 years as the place to go for a good cup of joe. A Main Corridor landmark, Coffee Central celebrated its milestone anniversary with cake, giveaways and decorations.
  • ED reconfigures front areas and patient flow system
    Patients coming to the MGH Emergency Department (ED) soon will benefit from an enhanced patient flow system and reconfigured front area — including reception, waiting, triage and screening rooms. The new system and design will pilot test the patient flow system and configuration of the ED planned for the Building for the Third Century (B3C), which is slated to be completed in 2011.

  • Zietman named Shipley Professor of Radiation Oncology
    Last week, a milestone in academic medicine was reached in the Department of Radiation Oncology as Anthony Zietman, MD, associate director of the Harvard Radiation Oncology Residency Program at MGH, became the first incumbent of a newly-endowed professorship at Harvard Medical School (HMS).

    Approximately 500 guests attending the eigth annual Storybook Ball benefiting the MassGeneral Hospital for Children (MGHfC) entered the magical world of Mary Poppins Oct. 13 at The Castle at Park Plaza.
