Supercalifragilistic ball benefits MGHfC
Approximately 500 guests attending the eigth annual Storybook Ball benefiting the MassGeneral Hospital for Children (MGHfC) entered the magical world of Mary Poppins (right) Oct. 13 at The Castle at Park Plaza. Mary Poppins herself flew in for a special visit carrying her signature umbrella. More than $2.6 million was raised to support the work of the Pediatric Congenital Heart Program and 15 pediatric
fellows at the MGHfC. In a surprise announcement, Peter L. Slavin, MD, MGH president, informed guests that, thanks to a generous gift from the Ribakoff family, the new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the MGHfC will be named in honor of MGH trustee Patricia Ribakoff, who has co-chaired the Storybook Ball Committee for the past three years.
