Coffee Central celebrates 10 years of buzz

This October, the caffeine capital of the MGH, Coffee Central, marked 10 years as the place to go for a good cup of joe. A Main Corridor landmark, Coffee Central celebrated its milestone anniversary with cake, giveaways and decorations. Each day, Coffee Central staff members serve more than 11,000 cups of coffee to approximately 3,100 customers around the clock.

Joan Shea, senior manager of Nutrition and Food Services, credits Coffee Central's success to its employees. She says, "They always have a smile. Their incredible teamwork is the key." Adds Michael DeSimone, Coffee Central manager, "It's all about the people here, both staff and customers."

In the end, however, it all comes down to one word: "Consistency," says Susan Barraclough, MS, RD, LDN, director of Nutrition and Food Services. "Getting it exactly how you want it, day after day."
