MGH vs. BWH in blood donation challenge

MGH and BWH employees can engage in some friendly competition while making a life-saving blood donation during the MGH/BWH Employee Blood Drive Challenge, Aug. 20 to Sept. 9. Each year the hospitals participate in this challenge to encourage employees to help the blood donor centers meet the blood needs of patients during the summer, a season when donations are traditionally low.

The MGH team consists of employees from the MGH, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Partners HealthCare employees may choose to donate with either team. During the three-week contest employee blood donors will receive an MGH/BWH Employee Blood Drive Challenge T-shirt and an Eat Street Café/Coffee Central coupon. All employees who participate will have the chance to win gift certificates to stores, area restaurants and entertainment venues.

The MGH Bloodmobile will be parked at the Schrafft Center in Charlestown Sept. 7 to enable CNY employees to easily participate. To schedule a blood donation appointment at the MGH or for more information, contact the MGH Blood Donor Center at (617) 726-8177.
