Lynda Stuart, MBBS, PhD, of the MassGeneral Hospital for Children, has been selected as the recipient of the 2007 Howard M. Goodman Fellowship Award. Stuart will receive $250,000 per year for two years to support her research on innate immunity. Established in 2006, the fellowship honors Howard M. Goodman, PhD, founder and former chief of the MGH Department of Molecular Biology. Jeanette Ives Erickson, RN, MS, senior vice president for Patient Care Services and chief nurse, and Diane Carroll, RN, PhD, nurse researcher for the Yvonne L. Munn Nursing Research Center, are among 54 nurse leaders who have been named fellows of the American Academy of Nursing (AAN), an honor that recognizes leadership and outstanding achievement in the nursing profession. The AAN aims to serve the public and nursing profession by advancing health policy and practice through the generation, sharing and synthesis of nursing knowledge. Ives Erickson and Carroll will formally be inducted into the academy during a ceremony in the fall.
