Honoring top
MGH employees
Two Employee of the Year events took place May 18, with both Radiation Oncology and the Cancer Center honoring exemplary staff members.
Paul Chase (left) was named Radiation Oncology's Employee of the Year. Chase
has worked as a patient services coordinator for the department for 29 years.
"Paul is truly a dedicated, patient-focused, outstanding employee," says Claire Cronin, operations manager for Radiation Oncology. "We're lucky to have him."
Says Chase, "I truly
enjoy working for the Proton Center. I am so appreciative of this honor." Other employees who were acknowledged were Jack MacDonald and Yves Delva, both machinists; Brian Napolitano, medical dosimetrist; and Rachel Bolton, RN.
In the Cancer Center, Patient Services Coordinator David Sigilai (right) received the unit's Employee of the Year award. Sigilai has worked for the MGH for six years and the Cancer Center for four. Says Bruce Chabner, MD, clinical director of the MGH Cancer Center, "David brightens everyone's day in the Yawkey 7 clinic. Staff, patients and families enjoy seeing him." Sigilai describes working at the Cancer Center as "a great privilege."
Runners-up for the Cancer Center's award were Lisa Couto, project coordinator; Valerie Smith, academic assistant; Carol Danner, staff assistant; and Gwendolyn Mitchell, LPN, of the Gillette Center for Breast Cancer. |
