MGHers named winners of nursing excellence awards

Two MGH nurses were named the New England regional winners of the 2007 Nursing Spectrum Excellence Awards at the magazine's May 15 Excellence Awards gala in Burlington. Dorothy A. Jones, EdD, RN, FAAN, director of the Yvonne L. Munn Center for Nursing Research (left), was selected in the "Teaching" category, and Deborah Washington, RN, PhDc, director of Diversity for MGH Patient Care Services (right), was chosen for the "Advancing the Profession" category. Both now are eligible for the national Nursing Spectrum Nurse of the Year Awards. In total, nine MGH nurses were among the 30 Nursing Excellence Award finalists this year.
