Senior HealthWISE events
The MGH
Senior HealthWISE film series will host a free screening of "The
Queen" May 31, from 11 am to 1 pm in the Haber Conference Room. Registration
is required. Senior HealthWISE also will offer free blood pressure checks
and hypertension screenings June 4, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at the Hill House,
127 Mt. Vernon St. in Boston. For more information or to register for

Service Learning Series
The MGH Service Improvement Department will host the next MGH/MGPO Service
Learning Series, "Great Leaders Inspire Discretionary Effort"
May 30, from 9 to 10:30 am at the Holiday Inn Select, 5 Blossom St., in
Capital Suite A/B. Susan Keane Baker, MHA, author of "Managing Patient
Expectations: The Art of Finding and Keeping Loyal Patients," will

Wellman Center lecture
The MGH Wellman
Center for Photomedicine will host a lecture May 29, from 2:15 to
3:15 pm in the Thier Conference Room. P. Jack Hoopes, DVM, PhD, associate
professor of Surgery and Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School, will present
"Iron Oxide Nanoparticle Hyperthermia: Assessment as a Primary and
Adjunct Cancer Treatment Modality." A coffee reception will begin

Update on Medical Service Blood Drive Challenge
During the month of May, nurses and physicians in the Department of Medicine
are invited to participate in the annual Medical Service Blood Drive Challenge.

Donor Center is located in the Gray Lobby and is open for donations
Tuesday through Thursday, from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm and Friday, from 8:30

PCP loan repayment program
MGH primary care physicians (PCPs), medical students, residents and interns
can apply for a loan repayment program meant to encourage PCPs to practice
primary care in community health centers. It is offered by Partners HealthCare
and the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers and funded by
a grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation. Applicants must
agree to work in primary care in community health centers for two years
and may receive up to $25,000 per year for three years toward the repayment
of medical school loans. The first round of applications is due by June
1. Decisions will be announced July 1. For more information, contact Kristen
