Andrea Beloff, administrative director of Burns, Trauma, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Surgical Oncology, has been named a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). ACHE fellows must pass a rigorous written exam, participate in health care and civic affairs and demonstrate a commitment to the field of health care management through continuing education and professional contributions.

The American Association for Cancer Research (ACCR) has awarded Daniel Haber, MD, chief of the MGH Cancer Center, the annual Rosenthal Award. The award is given to an investigator who has made seminal contributions to cancer research with direct implications for the clinical care of cancer patients. Haber also has been elected to serve on the Board of Governors for the AACR.

J. Rodrigo Mora, MD, PhD, assistant immunologist in the Gastrointestinal Unit, has received the Young IBD Investigator Award from the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). The award is given annually to investigators in the beginning of their scientific careers who already have a CCFA grant in any category.

Jerrold Rosenbaum, MD, chief of MGH Psychiatry, has been named the recipient of the 2007 C. Charles Burlingame Award from the Institute of Living in Hartford, Conn. The award is presented annually in recognition of outstanding leadership and lifetime achievement in psychiatric research and education.

Natalia Rost, MD, clinical fellow in Vascular and Intensive Care Neurology, received the National Stroke Association's 2007 Research and Clinical Fellowship in Cerebrovascular Disease Award. This two-year grant will support her study of genetic variation in stroke and intracerebral hemorrhage.

Peter Moran, case manager in MGH Emergency Department, has been named president of the Case Management Society of America (CMSA). The CMSA is a multidisciplinary professional organization dedicated to the support and advancement of the case management profession.

The American College of Surgeons (ACS) has named Andrew L. Warshaw, MD, MGH surgeon-in-chief, the recipient of the 2007 Arthur Ellenberger Award for Excellence in State Advocacy. The award is presented periodically to recognize a career of outstanding leadership, distinguished service and commitment to protecting patients' access to high-quality surgical care. Warshaw is the chairman of the Board of Directors of the American College of Surgeons Professional Association.
