MGHers
take their children to work
Nearly 300 young "MGHers-in-training" visited the hospital April
27 for the annual Take Your Child to Work Day sponsored by MGH Human Resources
(HR). MGH staff and employees who registered in advance had the opportunity
to bring their children to the hospital, where the kids could see their
parents' workplaces firsthand.
The daylong event's theme was "Revolutionizing the Workplace,"
and families spent the morning touring the hospital and learning about
the MGH's long and distinguished history. The kids enjoyed a visit to
the helipad, the MGH Police and Security Dispatch Center and The Clubs
at Charles River Park. They also had the chance to participate in an MGH
version of "Bingo" and "Twenty-five
Thousand Dollar Pyramid Meets Family Feud" — games hosted by
MGH HR. In the afternoon, children and parents alike learned important
health tips at the Children's Health Fair and explored the Ether Dome
with Shelly Riley of Visitor Education Programs. Children received an
MGH backpack and baseball cap to remember their special day with their
parents at the MGH.
