Clinical pastoral care fellowships

Through the generosity of the Kenneth B. Schwartz Center and the MGH Department of Nursing, fellowships are being offered for the MGH Clinical Pastoral Education winter 2008 program. Available for individuals who work directly with patients and families in a health care setting and wish to integrate spiritual caregiving skills into their practices, the part-time program runs Jan. 7 through May 22. Sessions are held Mondays from 8:30 am to 5 pm with additional hours to be negotiated for the clinical component.

Six Kenneth B. Schwartz Fellowships in Pastoral Care will be awarded to caregivers from disciplines other than pastoral care. Doctors, nurses, social workers or other professionals who interact directly with patients and families may apply. Applicants employed by any institution or practice are eligible.

Two spiritual caregiver fellowships will be awarded. Applicants must be a registered nurse from the MGH Department of Nursing and must have direct caregiver roles with a minimum of two years of nursing experience.

The MGH Clinical Pastoral Education Program is accredited by the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. (ACPE). All applications for the program, including fellowship applications, are due Sept. 1. For more information or to receive an application, contact the MGH Chaplaincy at (617) 726-4774 or (617) 724-3227.
