MGH nurses: award finalists

Nine MGH nurses have been named regional finalists in six different categories in the annual Nursing Spectrum Excellence Awards competition. The national awards program recognizes the extraordinary contributions nurses make to their patients, colleagues and the nursing profession. With at least one MGH nurse nominated in each category, the showing is particularly notable, as each category has only five finalists. The regional winners will be announced at a gala awards dinner May 15, and they will be eligible for the national Nursing Spectrum Nurse of the Year Awards.

The following are the MGH finalists and the categories in which they were nominated:

• Dorothy Jones, RN, Teaching
• Denise Morelli, RN, Clinical Care

• Gayle Peterson, RN, Community Service
• Deborah Washington, RN, Advancing the Profession
