  • May is Medical Service Blood Drive Challenge month
    Throughout the month of May, Department of Medicine physicians and MGH nurses will engage in some friendly competition by donating blood at the MGH Blood Donor Center. The group with the highest percentage of donors will be declared the winner of the third annual Medical Service Blood Drive Challenge.
  • MGH nurses are award finalists
    Nine MGH nurses have been named regional finalists in six different categories in the annual Nursing Spectrum Excellence Awards competition. The national awards program recognizes the extraordinary contributions nurses make to their patients, colleagues and the nursing profession.
  • Blowing the whistle on sexual assault
    In recognition of national Sexual Assault Awareness Month, MGH Men Against Abuse, the MGH Employee Assistance Program, the HAVEN (Hospitals Helping Abuse and Violence End Now) program, the Emergency Department's Sexual Assault Program and MGH Police and Security joined together to host a sexual assault awareness and information table April 5 in the Main Corridor.
  • MGH Provider Numbers are now six digits
    Beginning May 5, the MGH will be expanding the Provider Number from a five-digit to a six-digit number in order to continue assigning unique numbers to each provider.
  • AEDs across the MGH could save lives
    When an individual experiences cardiac arrest, the sooner a trained rescuer delivers an electric shock with an automated external defibrillator (AED), the better the patient's chances of survival. Recently, the MGH Code and Response Committee completed the process of equipping seven high-traffic areas around the MGH campus with AEDs to better prepare for such emergencies.
  • Connecting with the Partners Bulletin Board
    Looking for concert tickets, a new apartment or a summer vacation rental? This search can be made easier by using the MGH/Partners Bulletin Board in Outlook. Divided into 20 different categories, the board has listings for everything from apartments to pets, furniture, clothing and event tickets.
  • Clinical pastoral care fellowships
    Through the generosity of the Kenneth B. Schwartz Center and the MGH Department of Nursing, fellowships are being offered for the MGH Clinical Pastoral Education winter 2008 program.
