Patriots pride at the Blood Donor Center

Two lucky blood donors have been chosen as the winners of the MGH Blood Donor Center's raffle of New England Patriots team memorabilia. Gregory Falta won a football autographed by defensive lineman Vince Wilfork, and Frank Uttaro received a team jersey autographed by running back Corey Dillon. The contest was part of a promotion offered by the center Feb. 5 through 16, in which all donors who gave blood during that time were automatically entered into a raffle for one of the prizes. Currently, the center is offering its annual "Taste of the Town" event, which offers a free lunch catered by area restaurants to all those who give blood on Fridays during the month of March.

The Blood Donor Center is located in the Gray Lobby and is open for whole blood donations Tuesday through Thursday, from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, and Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The center is open for platelet donations Monday through Thursday, from 7:30 am to 5 pm, and Friday, from 8:30 am to 3 pm. Walk-ins are welcome and appointments are encouraged. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call (617) 726-8177 or e-mail Kate DeCoste at kdecoste@partners.org.
