  • Badges foster service culture
    Seven years ago, the MGH Service Improvement Department implemented the "May I Help You?" program at the hospital, in which employees and staff volunteered to help create a welcoming environment for all patients and visitors by adding a special tag with the phrase to their regular hospital ID badge. As part of the MGH's continued efforts to foster a service culture at the hospital, the Service Improvement Department is reintroducing the "May I Help You?" program with a revamped look for the badges.
  • MGH Sports Medicine Center: Ready, set, go
    To commemorate its recent move to a new, state-of-the-art space on the fourth floor of 175 Cambridge St., the MGH Sports Medicine Center hosted an open house Feb.1 for MGHers, clinicians and guests to view the new facility.
  • SAC meeting explores reaching across boundaries to meet challenges
    "This is the best of times and the worst of times for biomedical research," said Peter L. Slavin, MD, president of the MGH, in his introduction to the Feb. 14 Celebration of Science symposium that kicked off the two-day annual meeting of the hospital's Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC).
  • Gift launches Radiation Oncology center of the future
    The MGH is moving forward with plans for a new, 530,000-square-foot building — the Building for the Third Century — with construction slated to begin later this year. One of the most exciting aspects of this new venture will be the enhancement of radiation oncology care.
  • Relaxation methods
    During an event sponsored by MGH Senior HealthWISE, seniors gathered in the Haber Conference Room Feb. 22 to learn a variety of easy and useful relaxation techniques from Ann Webster, PhD, of the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at MGH.
