Seminars in applied biostatistics
for clinical trials
The MGH Clinical
Research Program will offer a four-part seminar series in applied
statistics for clinical trials Feb. 29, March 7, 12 and 21, from 3:30
to 5 pm in the Simches Center, Room 3110. Elkan Halpern, PhD, chief statistician
for the MGH Department of Radiology and director of Statistics at the
MGH Institute of Technology Assessment, will present. Enrollment is limited
and all registrations must be received by Feb. 26. To register, visit

Senior HealthWISE events
MGH
Senior HealthWISE will offer hypertension screenings and blood pressure
checks Feb. 5, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at Hill House, 127 Mt. Vernon St.
The Senior HealthWISE lecture series will host "Art as Healing"
Feb. 8, from 11 am to noon in the Haber Conference Room with guest speaker
Stephanie Sordillo, an art therapist with the MGH HOPES Program. Both
events are free for seniors age 60 years and older. For more information,

Harris Center screens eating disorders documentary
The MGH Harris
Center for Education and Advocacy in Eating Disorders will host a
screening of Lauren Greenfield's award-winning documentary film "THIN"
Feb. 27, at 6:30 pm at the Brattle Theater in Cambridge. A question and
answer period with Greenfield and David Herzog, MD, director of the center,

New computer password
Beginning this month, all MGH employees will need to change their computer
password that they use to log on to any Partners network computer. The
Partners password will expire every 180 days (or six months). Starting
Feb. 14, employees will be selected in phases to participate in the system
using an application called MYProfile. Employees will receive an e-mail
with their password expiration date and instructions about registering
and creating their password in MYProfile. The MGH is implementing a Password
Self Service System to help employees create and manage their Partners

Call for applications for pilot feasibility
projects at CNRC
The Harvard
Clinical Nutrition Research Center (CNRC) is accepting applications
for new pilot feasibility projects as well as for competing renewals of
currently funded one-year projects. Applications are intended for young
investigators in established research programs relevant to clinical nutrition
research and without NIH grant support; established scientists not currently
focused on nutrition and who wish to initiate studies of related nutritional
problems; and established nutrition researchers with novel projects differing
from currently funded research projects. Applications are available at
