In General Christiane G. Frick, MD, a research fellow in the MGH Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care, won the first prize in the 2006 Residents Research Contest sponsored by the American Anesthesiologists. Frick was selected for her manuscript "Long-Term Effects of Botulinum Toxin on Neuromuscular Function." Jeevendra Martyn, MD, of the Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care, is the senior author. L. Christine Oliver, MD, of the MGH Pulmonary and Critical Care Unit, was selected by the Labor Guild of the Archdiocese of Boston as a recipient of the 2006 Cushing-Gavin Award for her work in the area of occupational medicine. The award is given for excellence in labor-management relations exemplifying moral integrity, professional competence and community concern. Oliver is the first physician to receive the award. The Education Committee on Health Ethics Trust, a division of the Council
of Ethical Organizations, recognized the MGH
as having a best compliance practice in the area of HIPAA
Breach Management Programs. The Council of Ethical Organizations is a
nonprofit organization, the members of which are private organizations
dedicated to promoting ethical conduct. |
