MGHers support HAVEN families

The Patient Care Services (PCS) Diversity Committee held its annual "Holidays Around the World" celebration Dec. 14 in the Main Corridor, which was filled with festive music and information about holiday observances held around the world. Committe members also delivered holiday gifts to families in need. One floor below in the East Garden Dining Room, gifts poured in for MGH patients and families of the HAVEN (Hospitals Helping Abuse and Violence End Now) program.

The MGH HAVEN program provides services and items for victims of domestic violence. Each year the PCS Diversity Committee works with Social Services to identify families affected by domestic violence. The families are then matched with MGHers who are interested in buying them holiday gifts. This year 310 HAVEN clients were "adopted" by MGH employees, who donated more than 1,000 gifts in total. MGH Nutrition and Food Services, Police and Security, Materials Management, Partners Transportation and others helped to make the day's work possible. Above, MGHers collected gifts for HAVEN families.
