  • Tully named Nurse of the Year
    Susan Tully, RN, MGH Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) nurse manager, has been named Nursing Spectrum's 2006 Nurse of the Year in the Management category.
  • Remembering the youngest patients
    Families, friends and caregivers of patients at the MassGeneral Hospital for Children (MGHfC) gathered in the O'Keeffe Auditorium Nov. 5 for the 15th annual Pediatric, Neonatal and Obstetric bereavement service. The memorial service is dedicated to families who have experienced the death of a child, including those who have lost a child through miscarriage or stillbirth.

    MGH staff and employees can help the hospital by opting for paperless paydays. It's quick and easy, and users can review their paychecks online through PeopleSoft.
  • Puppy Pals bring smiles
    During the holiday season, donors at the MGH Blood Donor Center will not only have a chance to give the lifesaving gift of blood, but also to bring a smile to a young patient's face. Through the center's annual Puppy Pals program, all those who give blood Nov. 24 through Dec. 22 will have the opportunity to sign and personalize gift tags for stuffed puppies and Beanie Babies, which then will be delivered to patients at the MassGeneral Hospital for Children.
  • New radiology core service supports clinical trials
    The Dana Farber/Harvard Cancer Center (DF/HCC), a consortium composed of seven Harvard-affiliated medical centers including the MGH, has launched a new radiology core service to provide accurate and timely tumor measurements in support of clinical trials being conducted at the network of hospitals.
  • MGH researchers identify master cardiac stem cell
    Researchers from the MGH Cardiovascular Research Center (CVRC) have discovered what appears to be a master cardiac stem cell, capable of differentiating into the three major types of cells that make up the mammalian heart.
