ID
badge required at all times
The MGH Police
and Security Department reminds all hospital staff and employees that
wearing a hospital photo identification badge is required at all times
on MGH
property. The policy, mandated by the hospital, Joint Commission on Accreditation
of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) requirements and
Massachusetts law, states, "all employees and students must wear
a hospital identification badge whenever performing hospital duties or
engaged in other hospital business in hospital buildings." Wearing
an ID badge also is a sign of welcome and respect for patients, families
and visitors.
Employees can replace lost or damaged ID badges at the Police and Security
Photo ID Office located in the Clinics Basement, Room 055, Monday through
Thursday, from 7:30 am to 4 pm, and Friday, from 10:30 am to 4 pm. Staff
members who work at an MGH satellite location can obtain a new ID badge
at the Charlestown Navy Yard Photo ID Office, Building 149, West Lobby,
Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 3:30 pm. There is a $10 charge for
replacement ID badges at both locations. For more information, call MGH
Police and Security at (617) 726-2121.
