  • MGH honors employee military heroes for their service
    The selfless sacrifices of hospital employees who have served in various branches of the U.S. military — both stateside and abroad — are being honored with a plaque recently installed on the MGH Employee Wall of Recognition on Ellison 1.
  • MGH kicks-off Armed Services Blood Donor Month
    While many MGHers celebrated the Memorial Day holiday with barbecues, trips to the beach and other fun activities, the MGH Blood Donor Center kicked off the long holiday weekend May 26 with the beginning of Armed Services Blood Donor Month. During the month of June, MGHers are invited to donate blood in honor of veterans and those currently serving in the military.
  • New pharmacy information system to launch
    The MGH Department of Pharmacy will be replacing the Medical Engineering Inc. (MEI) system — the current inpatient pharmacy computer program — June 3 with a new system called Misys.
  • 2006 Claflin Scholars named
    Clinician, researcher, teacher, mother — all important titles. Six talented female MGH staff members recently added another moniker to their already long and rich multihyphenated lists: Claflin Distinguished Scholar.
  • Clinical Research Day: Improving patient care
    Strategies for surmounting the second translational block
    barriers that keep information gained in clinical trials from being incorporated into regular patient care were explored at the fourth annual Clinical Research Day May 25.
  • MGH Revere celebrates Community Health Day
    Members of the MGH and Revere communities gathered recently at the MGH Revere HealthCare Center to celebrate the sixth annual Community Health Day, an educational event for community health care professionals.
