MGH Revere celebrates Community Health Day

Members of the MGH and Revere communities gathered recently at the MGH Revere HealthCare Center to celebrate the sixth annual Community Health Day, an educational event for community health care professionals. The day's keynote address, "The Relaxation Response: How to Counteract the Harmful Effects of Stress," was given by Herbert Benson, MD, president of the Mind and Body Institute and an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School. The festivities also included the presentation of the annual MGH Revere Community Health Award, which recognizes those who have made positive changes in the Revere community. This year's recipients are Senior Wellness Project Committee members Joan Niles, RN, Bernice MacIntyre and Sylvia Gordon, LICSW, who were selected for their outstanding commitment to making positive changes with seniors at MGH Revere.
