  • MGPO dinner salutes physicians
    The Massachusetts General Physicians Organization (MGPO) hosted its second physician dinner May 20, showcasing the organization's progress and celebrating physicians for their dedication to caring for patients.
  • Commitment to diversity focus of retreat
    The MGH's commitment to issues of diversity remains focused on creating an inclusive environment for all patients, families and visitors as well as staff and employees. This focus, as well as how best to move forward, was at the heart of a Diversity Committee retreat held last month.
  • MGH residents place second in "Doctor's Dilemma"
    Quick-thinking and teamwork were the keys to success for a team of MGH senior residents as they placed second at the national "Doctor's Dilemma" medical trivia competition sponsored by the American College of Physicians.
  • World-renowned oncologist speaks at the MGH
    Steven A. Rosenberg, MD, PhD, chief of Surgery at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and professor of Surgery at the federal Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, was the guest speaker at the MGH Surgical Grand Rounds May 4, where he discussed the advances he and his group at the NCI have made in using biological therapies to help a patient's immune system fight cancer.
  • Making a Difference at the MGH
    Among the many MGH employees who continually are finding new and creative ways of improving the comfort and care provided to patients at the hospital every day are the recipients of the 2006 Making a Difference grants. The Making a Difference grant program — which is sponsored by the MGH and the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization — offers up to $5,000 in support of employee initiatives to improve the quality of care at the hospital for patients, their families and employees.
  • New website helps women find health resources
    The MGH Women's Health Education Committee recently launched the online Women's Health Directory to assist women of all ages in finding information about the health services and resources available at the hospital. The directory contains information about a variety of women's health care services - including obstetrics and gynecology, cancer care, mental health, aging and wellness and support.
