Royal
treatment
Young
patients at MassGeneral Hospital for Children (MGHC) were treated like
royalty April 27 as they received a visit from members of Queen for a
Day — a national, nonprofit organization designed to raise the self-esteem
and self-confidence of children coping with cancer and other serious illnesses.
Girls were pampered with manicures, make-up and dress-up sessions, while
each boy received a fireman's hat and a banner proclaiming him a "hero."
The day also included a visit from Miss Massachusetts Kristen Gauvin,
who bestowed tiaras on the young princesses and provided expert advice
as each child ascended a specially made throne.
