Employee smoking cessation group
MGH Human Resources, in cooperation with the MGH
Quit Smoking Service and MGH
Community Health Associates, is offering a smoking cessation group
for MGH employees. The group will meet Wednesdays, May 10, 17, 24, 31,
June 7, 14, 21 and 28, from noon to 12:45 pm at the MGH Chelsea HealthCare

Social Services career fair
MGH Social Services will host a career fair May 3, from 4:30 to 7:30 pm
in the Walcott Conference Rooms. On-site interviews will be available,
and participants can receive free parking at the Fruit Street and Parkman

Senior HealthWISE events
MGH
Senior HealthWISE will host free hypertension screenings and discussion
about hypertension self-management May 1, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm at the
Hill House, 127 Mount Vernon St., Boston. It will be led by Cheryl Wall,
RN, BSN. Senior HealthWISE also will host a six-week nutrition workshop
on Wednesdays, beginning May 3, from 2 to 3 pm at the West End Public
Library. Preregistration is required. Both events are free for seniors

IRB series
The Human Research Committee Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the
MGH Clinical Research Program are sponsoring "Issues in the Protection
of Human Subjects Series: Misbehavior, Misconduct, Misdemeanors, Deliquency
and Just Plain Stupidity!" May 18, from 4 to 5:30 pm in the Simches
Research Center, Room 3110. The lecture qualifies for physician AMA category
1 credit and 1.8 contact hours of nursing continuing education credit.

Partners in Excellence Awards online nominations
Online nominations now are being accepted for the Partners in Excellence
(PIE) Awards. To nominate an individual or team, visit pulse.partners.org/pie/instructions.asp.
Nominations can be made in the following categories: quality treatment
and service, leadership and innovation, teamwork, operational efficiency
and outstanding community contributions. The PIE awards ceremonies will
be held in December and January 2007. For more information about the PIE

Support Service Employees Grant applications
Applications now are being accepted for the MGH Support Service Employees
Grant Scholarship. The grant is open to nonexempt employees working in
clinical, technical, service and clerical positions. To qualify for the
grant, employees must have at least two years of service. For a complete

Medication Reconciliation information
Information about the hospitalwide Medication
Reconciliation Program will be available at a table display May 1
to 5 in the Main Corridor, from 10 am to 6 pm. Brochures and medication
lists for patients will be available as well as information about the
electronic Pre-Admission Medication List (PAML) in Provider Order Entry
