United Way hockey game
In support of the United Way campaign, the MGH will sponsor a celebrity hockey game pitting MGH employees against members of the Bruins Legends April 2, at 4 pm at the Stoneham Arena in Stoneham, Mass. Tickets for the event are $20; children age 12 and under are free. A reception will be held immediately following the game. Online mental health screenings
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) now is offering free online mental health screenings for employees and their family members. The screenings will measure symptoms related to depression, alcohol abuse, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and eating disorders. All screenings are anonymous and confidential. Participants can schedule an appointment with EAP staff for further evaluation at the completion of the screening. Pamela Ellis Memorial Secretarial Award
Nominations now are being accepted for the Pamela J. Ellis Memorial Secretarial Award, which was established in memory of Pamela Ellis, an MGH executive assistant from 1992 to 1996. All executive secretaries, administrative assistants, front desk receptionists and operations workers are eligible for the $1,000 award, which will be presented at the Secretarial/Clerical Support Staff Day luncheon to be held April 26. Nomination forms are available at is.partners.org/hr/New_Web/mgh/Pamelajellis2006.htm or at the Employee Access Center, Clinics 117, 75 Blossom Court and CNY Building 149, seventh floor. Forms also are available at the MGH Chelsea, Charlestown, Revere and Back Bay health centers. Completed forms can be sent to Clinics 117 or mghhrevents@partners.org and must be received by March 20 at 3 pm.

National Patient Safety Awareness Week
National Patient Safety Awareness Week will be held March 5 through 11. The MGH Office of Quality and Safety will celebrate by distributing "Five Steps to Safer Health Care" bookmarks to patients, staff, employees and visitors. The bookmarks are in several languages and will be available at information desks throughout the hospital. For more information, call Katie Farraher at (617) 726-4709.

Workspace organization seminar
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is sponsoring the seminar "Organize Your Workspace for Success," March 16, from noon to 1 pm in the Thier Conference Room. Cristin Lind, a professional organizer, will cover topics including how an organized workspace can help in reaching professional goals, remaining in control of paper and information and projecting a professional image. April Vacation Club at Backup Childcare Center
The MGH Backup Childcare Center is offering a Vacation Club April 17 through 21, from 7:30 am to 5:45 pm each day. The cost is $275 for the entire week or $60 per child per individual day.
