Black
History Month celebrated through music and dance
The WACC Lobby resonated with the sounds of pounding music,
stamping feet and bursts of applause at a Black History Month music and
dance tribute, held Feb. 23 and sponsored by the Association of Multicultural
Members of Partners (AMMP).
The award-winning children's dance troupes Status Quo, Nova and Baby-Dolls
from the Stajez Center for the Performing Arts in Mattapan, were the guest
performers at the celebration, delighting the audience with a number of
uplifting and spiritual dance pieces. The popular Voices of MGH choir
also made a return appearance, singing "Oh Freedom" and "Oh
Happy Day."
