MGH Anesthesia Department suppresses pain and paper paychecks

The staff of MGH Anesthesia and Critical Care recently joined many other hospital departments who have gone paperless with their paychecks. Employees in that department who have direct deposit are suppressing the weekly printing of the paper copies of their direct deposit advices.

"All of the technicians in my department suppress their paychecks," says Colleen Mackesey, RN, a manager for MGH Anesthesia and Critical Care. "They look at their paycheck online with PeopleSoft each Wednesday night and can choose to print a copy for their own records. It has worked out well for us."

All employees can access the exact pay and benefit information listed on the pay stubs in their PeopleSoft Employee Self-Service (ESS) account from any Partners or home computer on Wednesday afternoons, earlier than the Thursday pay advice distribution. If employees need payroll information for official personal business, the Payroll Department can provide appropriate documentation. For more information about paperless paydays, managers should contact their department's Human Resources generalist. Employees who would like to go paperless can visit ibridge.partners.org/getaccess.
