Guaranteed Ride Home program
All MGH employees have free access to the Guaranteed Ride Home program
through the hospital's membership in the Artery Business Committee Transportation
Management Association, which sponsors the program. The service provides
employees a free ride home in the event of an emergency or unscheduled

Eldercare discussion group
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will host its monthly eldercare
discussion group Jan. 24, from noon to 1 pm in the Doerr Conference Center,
Room 10650, in the Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care. Facilitator Janet
T. Loughlin, LICSW, CEAP, and speaker Barbara Moscowitz, LICSW, MGH geriatric
social worker, will discuss normal aging, identifying when there is a
problem and basic steps to begin planning for care. For more information,

McGovern award
Nominations now are being accepted for the Brian A. McGovern, MD, Clinical
Excellence Award, established in memory of MGH cardiologist Brian A. McGovern,
MD. The award recognizes physicians who demonstrate the qualities that
characterized McGovern — clinical excellence, commitment and compassion.
All MGH employees can submit a nomination, which must be received by Feb.

Comfort and support after loss group
The comfort and support after loss group will hold its monthly meeting
Jan. 17, at 7 pm in the Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care, Schiff Conference
Center, Room 4810. The group will provide the opportunity to discuss the
challenges parents and loved ones face after the death of a child or baby.

Timilty science fair judges needed
The James P. Timilty Middle School is seeking MGH volunteers to judge
student projects at the annual science fair Feb. 6 to 9, from 8:45 to
11 am. Volunteers may sign up for more than one day. The Partners shuttle
will provide roundtrip transportation, departing from the MGH at 8 am
