ED staff share skills with nursing students A group of nursing students from Boston College recently visited the MGH Emergency Department (ED) as part of their pediatric rotation. ED staff nurses Laurie Shoemaker, RN; Ann Morrill, RN; Nancy McMullon, RN; and Russ Martin, RN, conducted a mock pediatric code, giving each student the opportunity to practice resuscitation skills on an infant mannequin. The session gave the nursing students hands-on experience with emergency equipment and medications. “The ED staff enjoyed the opportunity to share their knowledge
and skills with the students,” says Maryfran Hughes, RN, nurse manager
of the ED. |
