Annual MGH photo contest
The deadline for the eighth annual MGH photo contest sponsored by the MGH Photography Department is approaching. All MGHers and Partners employees must
submit entries with completed entry forms by Sept. 16. Contestants may submit up to two photographs on any subject, each no larger than 8 by 10 inches, unmounted and unframed. Entry forms are available in the Photography Department. Winners will be announced Sept. 29 at the Police, Outside Services, Parking and Photography (POPPS) Fair under the Bulfinch Tent. Prizes will be awarded. All submissions will be displayed. For more information, call (617) 726-2237.

Women in medicine documentary screening
In commemoration of Women in Medicine month, the Partners Office for Women's Careers at the MGH will sponsor a screening of highlights from "If Women Ruled the World," a PBS documentary special, Sept. 19, from 4 to 5:30 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. A panel discussion about gender equity in medicine also will take place. Judy Foreman, a nationally syndicated health columnist, will moderate, and panelists will include Isaac Schiff, MD, chief of MGH Vincent Obstetrics and Gynecology; Evelyn Fox Keller, MD, professor of History and Philosophy of Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and Richard Karz, producer of the documentary. Call for Macaluso Award nominations
Nominations now are being accepted for the Stephanie M. Macaluso, RN, Excellence in Clinical Practice Award. The award recognizes direct care providers throughout MGH Patient Care Services whose practice exemplifies the expert application of values personified by the late Stephanie M. Macaluso, RN. Nomination forms are available in all patient care areas, in department offices and at the Gray Lobby information desk. All nominations must be received by Sept. 30. Awardees each will receive $1,500 for a professional conference or course of their choice. Recipients will be announced in December. Partners Telemedicine annual symposium
Partners Telemedicine will host its annual symposium "The Accelerating Use of Communication Technology in Health Care: Trends, Innovations, Critical Issues and Value Statement" Sept. 26 and 27 at the Conference Center at Harvard Medical School on Avenue Louis Pasteur. The symposium will appeal to business, technology and health care professionals interested in the opportunities provided by the use of technology in delivering patient care. EAP work/life seminar
The MGH Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will sponsor a work/life seminar "A Quick Start to College Savings" Sept. 15, from noon to 1 pm in the Thier Conference Room.
