United Way campaign begins Nov. 12

The 1998 MGH United Way campaign kicks off Nov. 12 with pledge cards and campaign information being distributed through Payroll. Last year, the MGH raised approximately $111,000 for the United Way, making it the top fundraiser of Boston-area hospitals.

"The United Way campaign is a natural extension of the hospital's mission, not only to care for our patients, but also to care for our community," says Quinlan. "Even though our fundraising efforts for the United Way have been exemplary, our total employee participation rate has been below average. I hope this year's campaign will encourage employees to make a pledge and show their support for important United Way programs."
